A Different Kind of Dental Care in Mansfield
When you walk into Central Park Dental & Orthodontics in Mansfield, you’ll quickly realize this isn’t your typical dental office. Dr. Jiyoung Jung doesn’t just look at your teeth—she looks at you as a whole person. And that perspective has changed everything for patients throughout Arlington, Burleson, and the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.
“I see it all the time,” Dr. Jung explains. “Someone comes in with a toothache, and as we talk, I learn they’ve been dealing with poor sleep, chronic headaches, or jaw tension for years. These aren’t separate problems—they’re all connected. That’s why I developed what I call the Three Legs of the Well-being Stool.”
The Three Pillars of Well-being
Just like a three-legged stool needs all its legs to stay balanced, your health requires three essential pillars working together:
Structural Balance – This means looking at how your body is aligned, from your posture down to how your teeth fit together. When your jaw isn’t positioned properly or your airway is restricted, it affects everything from the way you breathe to how well you sleep at night.
Chemical Balance – Your mouth isn’t isolated from the rest of your body. We look at oral pH levels, bacterial balance, inflammation markers, and how toxicity might be affecting your ability to heal. What’s happening chemically in your mouth often reflects what’s happening throughout your body.
Emotional and Mental Balance – Stress doesn’t just live in your mind—it shows up in teeth grinding, jaw clenching, and even gum disease. Dr. Jung recognizes that your mental and emotional state plays a huge role in your physical health and healing capacity.
“Save Teeth. Save Lives. Breathe Better. Sleep Better. Live Better.
The Teeth are a Gateway to your Well-Being. Every Tooth Speaks to our Body.”

Why Patients from Alvarado to Grand Prairie Choose Dr. Jung
Dr. Jung’s approach goes deeper than fixing what’s broken. She’s focused on finding the root cause—not just putting a bandaid on symptoms. That’s exactly why families throughout Kennedale, Midlothian, and Lillian make the drive to see her.
At Central Park Dental & Orthodontics, you’ll experience comprehensive airway-focused dentistry that considers how your oral health affects your breathing, sleep quality, and overall wellness. Using advanced technology like 3D CBCT imaging and specialized medical imaging software for sleep and airway evaluation, Dr. Jung can see what other dentists might miss.
She also incorporates laser dentistry for more comfortable, precise treatments. But what really sets her apart is her collaborative mindset—she often works alongside chiropractors, physical therapists, functional medicine practitioners, and nutritionists to make sure you’re getting the complete care you need.
Dr. Jung’s Journey to Dentistry
Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Jung’s path to dentistry started with a deep interest in understanding people. She earned her first degree in child psychology before moving to the United States with her family, where she continued her education at the University of Texas at Dallas.
There, she graduated with honors in biology and made the Dean’s Honor List—a pattern that would continue throughout her career. At Baylor College of Dentistry (now Texas A&M College of Dentistry), she distinguished herself as a member of the Odontological Honor Society and the Dental Scholars’ program. She mentored pre-dental students and earned a certificate in education for healthcare professionals before graduating with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and the prestigious Merritt-Parks Award.
Going Beyond the Degree
But Dr. Jung didn’t stop there. She completed the Advanced Education for General Dentistry (AEGD) Program, gaining expertise in full-mouth rehabilitation, esthetic restoration, implant surgery, periodontal procedures, and complex root canal treatments. During this time, she provided specialized care to medically compromised patients and those with special needs—experiences that deepened her understanding of how oral health intersects with overall medical conditions.
She also served as an adjunct assistant professor at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, teaching third- and fourth-year dental students. This commitment to education and excellence continues today—Dr. Jung is constantly learning, attending courses, and refining her skills to provide the best care possible for patients throughout the Dallas area.
Recognition and Achievement
Dr. Jung has earned her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), an honor achieved by only 6% of dentists nationwide. This prestigious designation requires completing at least 500 hours of continuing education and passing a comprehensive examination covering multiple dental disciplines.
Her dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed. She’s been selected as a Best Dentist by D Magazine for five consecutive years (2021–2025), and she’s a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Texas Academy of General Dentistry, the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, and The American Academy for Oral and Systemic Health.
A Voice for Whole-Body Health
Dr. Jung’s commitment to connecting oral health with total wellness has taken her far beyond the dental office. On July 31, 2024, she spoke at the Empowering Women and Girls to Thrive Summit at the United Nations—not just about dentistry, but about resilience, healing, and the power of transforming pain into purpose.
In her powerful TEDx-style talk, Dr. Jung shared her own story of surviving a severe childhood burn accident in Korea at age five. She spoke about how the physical and emotional scars from that trauma became a celebration of life, beauty, and love—teaching her that true healing requires addressing not just the physical body, but the chemical balance within and the emotional wounds we carry.
This deeply personal journey is what shaped her Three Legs of the Well-being Stool philosophy. “I became a dentist to heal humanity,” she told the UN audience. Her approach to patient care isn’t just about fixing teeth—it’s about helping people celebrate every breath, find the beauty in themselves, and recognize that they have the power to live the best version of their lives. For this work and community service, she received The President’s Volunteer Service Award.

She’s also a co-author of the #1 Amazon bestseller “The Gifts of Pain: 31 Inspiring Stories of Hope and Daily Journal Prompts to Find Healing in Hardship”—a testament to her belief that true healing addresses not just the physical, but the emotional and spiritual dimensions of our lives.

Life Outside the Practice
When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Jung lives by the same three-pillar philosophy she teaches. Married since 1994, she’s a proud mother of two daughters and grandmother to two granddaughters. She’s a self-described foodie who loves hot yoga—practices that keep her own structural, chemical, and emotional balance in check.
